About

Leistikow Farms is owned by Dr. David Leistikow and Dr. Elizabeth Kandel. George Borchers is the Farm Manager, has a degree from CSU in Agronomy and has many years of worldwide farming experience. He joined  the farm 12 years ago. Kim has a degree in Nursing from Troy State University. She and her daughter Olivia, joined George on the farm in 2007 and they married June 6, 2009.  From April to October Alberto and Heriberto work for the farm planting and harvesting the crops. Heriberto is an awesome mechanic who can fix anything and he maintains the equipment in addition to his working the farm. His father Alberto,  is invaluable to us as he grew up on a farm in Mexico and is knowledgeable in all aspects of farming. They all live and work here on the farm and enjoy the farming lifestyle. The largest crop grown is alfalfa followed by grapes, salad greens, arugula, basil, squash, eggplant and tomatoes. The  sheep and goats are raised for meat and soon there  will be sheep pelts, rovings  and goat pelts for sale, too.  Leistikow Farms belong to the Boulder Farmers Market and Kim is the Market Stand Manager. Olivia is her most able assistant. You can find them on Saturdays in front of the Boulder Map Store from 8 am to 2 pm April through November selling vegetables, meat and grapes (when in season).
